Introduction

Inspired by color, motif, and the Iranian Siyah Mashq (calligraphic practice sheets often covered completely with writing), this poster was designed to honor Iranian poetry. The focus of this year was on the contemporary poets, so I chose modern forms and asymmetrical composition to evoke the sensation of Iranian contemporary poetry.

Using the contemporary poets’ portraits and their brief biography printed on the other side, I designed a series of cards for the participants from other nations.
